Participating artists, please bring a small plate of finger food to share at the reception.
Eligibility: All current member of Dublin Area Art League may enter artwork. All artwork must be original work of the member and not previously exhibited in a DAAL Show. Not For Sale works are acceptable.
Entry Fees: Each piece of artwork must be submitted in one of two categories; Photography/Digital Art OR Visual Fine Art/Non-Digital (including painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, etc.
$20 Entry Fee for 1 or 2 Pieces- Categories may vary by piece, such as painting and photography
$40 Entry Fee for 3 or 4 Pieces.
No more than 2 pieces can be entered by the same artist in each category.
Prizes: Best of Show $125 includes both categories combined.
The Fine Art and Digital Art/Photography categories each have the following prizes: 1st Place $75, 2nd Place $50, 3rd Place $25, and 3 Honorable Mentions which will receive Ribbons.
Total cash prizes: $425.
The Rules: All paintings & photos must be wired for hanging. “Sawtooth” hangers are not accepted. If artwork is not framed, edges must be finished. Paintings must be dry to the touch. No nudes may be displayed at the Dublin Recreation Center. 3D artworks are welcome, please let us know if you need a pedestal to display your piece.
Instructions: Complete Entry Form below and submit no later than Sat April 7, 2018, 11:59 pm.
Release of Liability:
Artists will be asked to sign an Assumption of Risk and Liability Form when art is dropped off. This is a requirement of the Dublin Area Recreation Center.
About the Jurors
Susan Ward has been teaching weekly Figure Drawing and Painting classes at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center since 2010. She graduated from CCAD in 2002, earning her BFA with a focus in painting. She has had solo exhibitions, curated exhibitions of students, and has had her work displayed in group exhibitions. While focusing in watercolor, she has also dabbled in many 2d and some 3d mediums, and is accustomed to working with her students in all sorts of styles. Her subject matter focuses on the human form and reflecting the different ways beauty can be expressed while depicting living beings.
Carrizo is a multimedia photojournalist who specializes visual storytelling for a wide range of publications, individuals and organizations including non-profits and NGOs. He teaches multimedia journalism, photojournalism, user experience design and visual communication design at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. During the summers, he’s a National Geographic Student Expeditions photography trip leader. Carrizo is based in Columbus, Ohio and available for work worldwide.
Education: M.A Visual Communication/Photojournalism at the Ohio University; M.A Spanish Literature and Culture at the Ohio State University; B.A International Studies and Spanish Literature at the Ohio State University.
